What we confirm before work begins
- Whether translation is needed: the receiving party may accept the original language.

- The target language: Arabic, English or another language named by the recipient.
- The credential: MOJ legal-translator stamp, translation-company stamp or another requested deliverable.

Translation reproduces what the certificate says; it does not repair the original. If a name, date or number appears inconsistent in the source, we flag it rather than silently changing it.

Birth, marriage, death and divorce records
Vital records may be used for family sponsorship, school enrolment, court files, insurance, inheritance or updates to personal records. Those uses do not all share one translation or attestation requirement.

Degrees, diplomas, transcripts and professional certificates
An academic or professional file may include a degree, transcript, marksheet, training certificate, experience record or good-standing letter. Ask the employer, education provider, equivalency service or professional body which items it requires.

Police-clearance and immigration certificates
A police-clearance certificate may be requested by an immigration office, employer, regulator or foreign authority. Requirements can differ by destination, language and document age.

Name spelling and source-document differences
Provide the passport or ID spelling that should be used as a reference. This is particularly important when a name can be transliterated into English or Arabic in several reasonable ways.
A translation should not conceal a difference already present in the source. If the certificate and passport show different names, dates or numbers, ask the issuing body or receiving party whether the source must be corrected or supported by another document.
Translation, certification and attestation are separate
Translation changes the language. An MOJ legal-translator or company stamp identifies a credential. Attestation is a separate process applied to an original or another official document.

Schools, employers, courts and other recipients
A school may accept an English record that a court wants in Arabic. An employer may accept a company-stamped translation while an authority asks for an MOJ legal translation. The recipient’s written instruction controls the choice.
Digital delivery is available. If a physical stamped copy, courier or particular file arrangement is required, include that before the quote so the delivery scope is clear.

Which certificates can you translate?

Does an English certificate always need translation in the UAE?
No. Some recipients accept an English certificate as issued, while others request Arabic or a particular certified format. Ask the receiving party and share its written requirement before ordering a translation.
Do I need an MOJ legal translation or a company stamp?
Use an MOJ legal translation when the receiving party explicitly requests MOJ, legal-translator or UAE legal translation. Use a company-stamped translation only when the recipient confirms that a company stamp is sufficient. If the instruction says only ‘certified’, ask what credential must appear on the final document.
Should UAE MOFA attestation happen before or after translation?
If the receiving party has confirmed that UAE MOFA attestation is required, complete MOFA first and translate the final stamped document afterwards. Do not add an attestation step merely because the certificate is foreign; follow the recipient's actual checklist.
How do you handle names on a certificate?
Send the passport or ID spelling you want used as a reference. We check names, dates and document numbers for consistency, but we do not silently change the source certificate. If the source itself contains a mismatch, the issuing body or receiving party may need to advise what to do.
Can you translate an unclear or old certificate?
Send the clearest complete copy available. We flag text that cannot be read reliably. If an essential name, date, number, stamp or reverse side is unclear, a clearer copy may be needed before the translation can be completed.
