Tasheel Rejected a Translation? What to Ask Next
If a Tasheel or MOHRE application flags a translation, identify the exact service and missing requirement before paying for replacement work.
Request document translation
We provide document translation only. We do not provide attestation services. For official attestation or application requirements, contact the relevant authority.
“Missing stamp” is not enough information to order the right fix.
Tasheel and other approved business service centres handle many Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) transactions. Each service has its own document list. A work-permit application, an establishment update and a labour complaint are not the same process, even when they are submitted at the same counter.
Before paying for another translation, identify the exact application and the exact shortfall.
Start with the service, not the stamp
Ask the centre or your employer’s representative for these details:
- The MOHRE service name and application number. This lets you check the correct service page instead of a generic checklist.
- The document and field that failed. Was the problem the translation, a name mismatch, a missing page, an unreadable seal or an unrelated supporting document?
- The required language. Ask whether the service needs Arabic, English or another specified output.
- Who must do the translation. If the centre requires a translator or translation house on the Ministry of Justice list, ask it to say so clearly.
- Any separate attestation requirement. Translation and attestation solve different problems and should not be bundled into one vague instruction.
MOHRE’s published service process says document shortfalls are reported to the establishment for completion. Ask for that message or take a clear screenshot. It gives a translator something specific to solve.
Why one Tasheel checklist is unreliable
MOHRE publishes requirements service by service. For example, its current page for a UAE or Gulf Cooperation Council national work permit asks for academic certificates only at specified skill levels and says no certificate is required for other levels. Other permit services publish different lists.
That is why claims such as “every work permit needs a degree translation” or “Tasheel always checks the same stamp” are unsafe. The counter is a delivery channel; the named MOHRE service determines the application requirements.
Use the current MOHRE service directory or ask the centre to open the relevant service page. If the answer is still unclear, MOHRE publishes its call centre number, 600 590000, on its service pages.
When provider registration matters
Federal Decree-Law No. 22 of 2022 separates two questions:
- who may practise translation in the UAE; and
- when an authority or court may authenticate, certify or accept a translated document.
The law uses the Ministry of Justice list of translators and translation houses. It also contains a narrow exception managed by a judicial authority; it is not a shortcut that a customer or translation office can choose. The law does not create one document checklist for every MOHRE service.
If the shortfall says the work must come from someone on the Ministry list, use the Ministry of Justice’s Search for Translators service. Ask the provider to identify the translator or translation house responsible for the work and the languages covered by the licence. A generic “certified” label does not answer those questions.
Does a missing stamp mean starting again?
Not necessarily, but the answer depends on who produced the translation and what the centre actually rejected.
- If the original provider omitted part of its own certification or made an error, ask that provider to correct its work.
- If the document was translated by a different provider, a new translator should review both the source and the translation before deciding whether it can be corrected or must be translated again.
- If the source document gained new stamps, pages or annotations after translation, those additions may need to be included in the new scope.
- If the issue is a passport spelling or missing page, adding a stamp will not solve it.
Do not pay for a full retranslation until the shortfall is clear and you have the complete document.
What to send for a useful review
Send:
- the full source document, including blank-looking backs, seals and attachments;
- every page of the existing translation;
- the MOHRE service name and application number;
- the written shortfall or screenshot;
- the required name spelling from the passport or Emirates ID;
- any existing attestation; and
- the date of your next submission.
A clear scan is enough to assess the work and quote it. The receiving service may still require an original, certified copy or another submission format.
What OnlineTranslation can and cannot confirm
We can compare the source and existing translation, identify missing text or pages, confirm the languages and explain in writing what must be translated, the price and the timing. If the work must be done by a translator or translation house on the Ministry list, we can tell you who will be responsible before you order.
We cannot decide what MOHRE will accept, promise that a centre will approve an application or certify another provider’s translation without review. The safest route is simple: get the exact shortfall first, then fix that requirement instead of guessing.
